United Utilities launch Haweswater Aqueduct Resilience Programme (HARP) virtual exhibition

As you may be aware, United Utilities has been consulting with local authorities, councillors, communities and their representatives about our plans to replace sections of the Haweswater Aqueduct that runs from Cumbria to Greater Manchester.

The 109km pipeline supplies around 2.5 million people with fresh drinking water every day and is well regarded as the backbone of the North West’s water supply.

To ensure that we can secure the quality and resilience of these water supplies, vital work is required to replace six sections of the pipeline amounting to one of the biggest infrastructure projects in the North of England.

As part of our pre-application consultation, we have developed an online virtual exhibition at www.harpconsultation.co.uk. This is to help inform key stakeholders and residents who may be impacted by the proposals and to give feedback on our latest plans. Please visit the site to find out how our works may be impacting your area and provide your valuable feedback.

Our virtual exhibition is an innovative way to communicate and engage with customers, community representatives and leaders and has helped us manage the consultation whilst abiding by social distancing guidelines.

We will be in touch throughout the consultation process and keep you updated of the plans going forward, however if you would like to contact us before then please don’t hesitate to do so by emailing the team at: HARPStakeholderRelations@uuplc.co.uk

Best wishes,

HARP Stakeholder Relations Team
